Alberta P. Dowdy

Alberta P. Dowdy, 98, of Olive Branch, formerly of Red Banks, died August 21, 2024, at her home. She was a member of Mt. Zion Taska MB Church where she served on the mother board and was the oldest member of the church. She was retired from Carrier Corporation in Collierville, Tenn.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on August 31 from 2-4 p.m. and on Sept. 1 at Mt. Zion Taska MB Church in Cayce from 1212:55 p.m. with services at 1 p.m. Pastor Keith Penilton will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She leaves her daughters, Debra Henderson of Olive Branch, Theresa Traylor (Michael) of Millington, Tenn.; sons, Jerry Jones of Augusta, Ga., Toriano Dowdy of Lamar; eight grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, D.C. Dowdy; daughter, Ivy Mae Patrick; siblings, John Archie Mosley, George Mosley, Wesley Mosley, Esau Mosley, Jacob Mosley, I L Crane, Lula Bell Hughes, Mary Anna Moore, Lela Jones, Lena Moore and Betty Pryor.
