
Carmen Jones
Carmen Jones, 71, died Saturday, Aug. 29, 2026, at her home.
She worked as a chemical laboratory technician and later as a lab supervisor for Humco, which eventually became PMC Biogenix. She retired in 2021. She was a member of Pleasant Hill CME Church, serving as church secretary, a member of the trustee board and through the Women's Missionary Society.
Visitation was held Friday, Sept. 4, at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel in Holly Springs. Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 5, at Pleasant Hill C.M.E. Church in Holly Springs, with burial following in the church cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter, Caryn Coleman of Memphis; a granddaughter; a bonus son, Christopher Keels of Memphis; two sisters, Irene Seldon and Huelean Jackson, both of Mount Pleasant; and an honorary brother, the Rev. Willie Hoey of Holly Springs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Louise Jones; a sister, Juanita Gill. Serenity Funeral Home of Holly Springs handled the arrangements.
