Lyndon Jeffery Daugherty

Lyndon Jeffery Daugherty, age 65, of Ruleville, formerly of Lamar, died Monday, Aug. 17 at the North Sunflower Medical Center in Ruleville.

He was a carpenter, attended Ashland High School, and was a member of Samuel Chapel MB Church.

Services were Sunday, Aug. 23, 2 p.m., at the Samuel Chapel MB Church of Ashland, with Rev. Dr. Ricky Bell. Burial followed at the Samuel Chapel MB Church Cemetery. J. F. Brittenum and Sons Funeral Home of Holly Springs was in charge of arrangements. Visitation was Saturday, Aug. 22 from 2-4 p.m. at the J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home of Holly Springs, and at the church from 1-1:55 p.m. at the church.

He leaves daughter Alicia Hempton of Olive Branch; son Courtney Hampton of Olive Branch; mother Willie Ruth Tipler Daugherty of Lamar; sisters Ann C. Tipler Reynolds of Houston, Texas, Sharion Tipler of Byram, and Valentenia Daugherty-Smith of Kansas City, Missouri; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his father John Lee Daugherty, Jr.
