Tourism Bureau break-in reported

Holly Springs Police are investigating a reported breaking and entering incident at the Holly Springs Tourism Office, 127 Van Dorn Avenue, on Monday, Aug. 3. Officers were called to the location about 8:15 a.m. That morning by a staff member who found drawers opened, lights on and the back door open in the office that had been closed since Wednesday, July 29 until that morning.

The staffer, starting her morning routine, told police she found some of the desk drawers were opened, and a closet light left on and a door opened in another office. Continuing into the executive director’s office, all drawers in the office were found to be opened and papers were scattered on the desk next to a computer. The back door to the office was also found to be left open and a cabinet door with office supplies was also opened, according to police.
