Annie J. Ayers Bennett

Annie J. Ayers Bennett, 64, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Michigan City, died July 5, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. She was a member of St. James Church of God in Christ and in home health care.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on July 17 from 3:30-6 p.m. and on July 18 at Hardaway MB Church in Michigan City from 10-10:55 a.m. with services at 11 a.m. Rev. James Norman will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Ripley.

She leaves her daughter, Tyekeysha Boyd of Oxford; sisters, Cynthia Vance of Michigan City, Lois Hamer of Grand Junction, Tenn., Betty Ayers of Memphis; brothers, Lawrence Ayers of Southaven, James Ayers Jr. of Memphis; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reginald Bennett; siblings, Barbara Ayers, Maggie Lou Davis, Darrell Ayers and Larry Ayers.
