Dawkins to host basketball camp

Kenny Dawkins, who retired recently from professional basketball, will host a free basketball camp Friday and Saturday, July 10- 11, at the Holly Springs High School gym.

The 14K Training Basketball Camp, focused on skills and development training, will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. Boys and girls, ages 6 to 18, can attend. Areas of emphasis at the camp will include shooting, ball handling, defense and basketball IQ.

Dawkins played for coach Naylond Hayes at Holly Springs High School and helped lead the Hawks to back-toback state titles in 2004 and 2005. The high school all-state player then excelled at the college and professional levels. He retired this year after 17 years of professional basketball overseas.
