Billie Benefield, 96, formerly of Cornersville, died May 7, 2026, at Hillside Nursing Home in Wake Forest, NC. She was a teacher, farmer, office assistant and a Wurlitzer employee before retirement. She was a member of Cornersville Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School teacher and church clerk.
Burial was in Cornersville Cemetery. United Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves her daughters, Regina Greer Cooper of Wake Forest, Susan Greer Hurst (Tim) of Youngsville, NC; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Norris Greer, James Forrester, James Benefield; brother, Loyd Jr.; and sister, Mary Louise Howard.
