Rev. Etoy Bogard Jr.

Rev. Etoy Bogard Jr. was born on January 13, 1938, in Holly Springs, Miss., to the late Mr. Etoy Bogard Sr., and Helna Bogard. to this union, nine children were born.

Rev. Bogard Jr. accepted Christ at a young age at Royal CME Church.

Rev. Etoy Bogard Jr. was a prominent pastor in Mississippi and Tennessee. His pastoral assignments were Antioch MB Church, Sandhill MB Church, and New Faith MB Church. He was a faithful member of the Memphis Baptist Ministerial Association (MBMA) until his health declined.

Rev. Etoy Bogard Jr. was one of the lead singers of the world-renowned gospel hall of fame, "The Bogard Brothers", for over fifty years. The Bogard brothers traveled throughout the United States glorifying God in song.

In his pastime, he enjoyed fishing and hunting with his nephews.

Rev. Bogard Jr. leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 14 years, Dora Bogard; children, Lanell Smith (Marcus), Steve Pruitt; stepchildren, Lequanda Isom (Taurence), Harvey Payne Jr. (Elizabeth), Keyoko Robinson (Alfred); two brothers, James Sidney Bogard (Deborah), Rev. A. Russell Bogard; one sister, Yvonne Anderson (Barney), all of Memphis, Tenn.; grandson, Lanell Smith Jr.; granddaughter, Larissa J. Smith; grandson, Taiden J. Lee; and granddaughter, Denver L. Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Rev. Bogard Jr. was preceded in death by his son, Myron Bogard; and siblings, Gladys Vinson, Leroy Bogard Sr., Juanita Beauregard, Lavern "Billy" Bogard, and Rev. Willie L. Bogard.

Rev. Bogard Jr. died March 21, 2026 at the age of 88. A visitation will be held at Jett's Funeral Home, 203 Washington St., Collierville, Tenn., on April 2 from 4-6 p.m.

A celebration of life will be held at Royal CME Chapel, 7085 Highway 72 E., Byhalia, on April 3 at 1 p.m. with interment following at Royal Chapel. Repast will immediately follow the Interment.
