Willie Louis Scales

Willie Louis Scales, 83, of Holly Springs, died March 5, 2026, at his home. He was a member of Anderson Chapel CME Church and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a retired educator and retired trackman for the Illinois Central Railroad.

Services were held at Anderson Chapel CME Church on March 14 at 11 a.m. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Rev. Dr. Leon Moore, pastor, officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Deborah Hughes Scales; children, Louis Scales of Holly Springs, Landon Scales of Olive Branch; stepchildren, Catrice Byers of Holly Springs, Laura Anderson of Jackson; sisters, Pauline Scales, Nadine Scales, both of Holly Springs; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, James Scales.
