Mozelle Jones Strong

Mozelle Jones Strong, 95, of Holly Springs, died February 9, 2026, at Diversicare of Southaven. She was a member of Roberts Chapel CME Church in Slayden where she served on the steward and usher boards. She was a retired cook at Rust College and H.W. Byers High School.

Visitation was held at Hopewell No. 2 MB Church in Hudsonville on February 21 from 9:30-10:55 a.m. with services at 11 a.m. Burial was in Gray's Chapel CME Church Cemetery. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves her sons, Sammie Ivy (Doris) of Rolling Fork, Jimmie Holland (Alma Kaye) of Memphis, Tenn.; grandson, she raised as her own son, Sean Morgan (Sandra) of Lawrenceville, Ga.; five sisters; Fannie Stephens, Evelyn Shields, Ardelia Briggs, Charetta (Louis) Harris, Rosie Stephens; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
