James "Squirrel" Al Holbrook

James "Squirrel" Al Holbrook, 72, of Holly Springs, died February 1, 2026. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Holly Springs, where he was a bus driver, participted in Vacation Bible School and in the Sanctuary Class. He was retired from Parker Hannifin and was a Holly Springs firefighter for 42 years.

Visitation will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on Feb. 6 from 1:30-2:50 p.m. with services at 3 p.m. Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery.

He leaves his wife, Susan Holbrook; stepson, Taylor Humphrey (Ivy) of Holly Springs; sisters, Ramona Holbrook Warren (Danny) of Nettleton, Katherine (Katie) Holbrook of Holly Springs; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Asa Holbrook and Annis Lyle Fretwell Holbrook; brothers, Loren Eugene Holbrook and Mark Holbrook.
