DeLassie Thompson

DeLassie Thompson, 84, of Olive Branch, formerly of Southaven and Ashland, died January 18, 2026, at his home. He was a member of Samuel Chapel MB Church, a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc., a retired educator with the Benton County School system and a U.S. Marine Corp veteran.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on Jan. 23 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. and on Jan. 24 at Samuel Chapel MB Church from 1:30-2:25 p.m. with services at 2:30 p.m. Minister James Nicholson will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He leaves a daughter, Kenya Williams of Olive Branch; son, LaStaca Thompson of Holly Springs; sister, Alice Thompson Pelrean of New Orleans, La.; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Hill Thompson; siblings, Lucious Thompson, Willie Thompson, Ralph Thompson, Jack Thompson, Richard Thompson, Grace Nixon, Josephine Thompson, Jessie Thompson and Eddie Lee Alford.
