Melissa Diratha Vance Poplar, 44, of Lamar, died December 2, 2025,. She was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 13 at Union Hill MB Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Serenity Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She leaves her husband, Willie Poplar of Lamar; son, Elijah Vance of Memphis, Tenn.; daughter, Markeedria Stewart of LaGrange, Tenn.; father, Billy Joe Vance of Memphis, Tenn.; mother, Ruth B. Hill Vance of Millington, Tenn.; five stepchildren; sisters, Rodney Smith of Millington, Pamela Smith Williams (Quinton) of Ashland, Jacqueline Scott (Wallace) of Olive Branch; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brittany Vance.
