James Tipler

James Tipler, 87, of Lamar, died July 16, 2025, at his home. He was a member of Samuel Chapel MB Church in Ashland and a retired truck driver for Benton County.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on July 25 from 1-6 p.m. and July 26 at Samuel Chapel MB Church from 99:55 a.m. with services at 10 a.m. Rev. Rickey Ball will officiate. Burial will be in St. Luke COGIC Cemetery in Lamar.

He leaves his daughters, Kerri Tipler of Collierville, Tenn., Janis Hightower of Holly Springs Scarlett Hightower of Olive Branch; son, Alex Williams of Lamar; sister, Gracie Reaves of Michigan City; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alberta Hoyle Tipler; daughter, Renay Hightower; siblings, Landy Tipler, William Tipler, Calburdia Crawford and Frances Crawford.
