Bessie Lee Scaife Galmore

Bessie Lee Scaife Galmore, 78, of Lamar, formerly of Elaine, Ark., died July 11, 2025, at her home. She was a member of Everett Chapel MB Church where she served on the mother's board. She was a retired driver for United Community Action Center in Ashland.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on July 18 from 1-6 p.m. and on July 19 at Samuel Chapel MB Church from 10-10:55 a.m. with services at 11 a.m. Rev. Larry McKinney III will officiate. Burial will be in Samuel Chapel Church Cemetery.

She leaves her husband, John Galmore of Little Rock, Ark.; daughters, Diane Martin of Lamar, Shirley Galmore of Byhalia; sons, John Galmore of Bryant, Ark., Aeko V. Galmore of Lamar; sisters, Dorothy Scaife Parks of North Little Rock, Ark., Annie Scaife of Dallas, Texas, Essie Scaife of St. Louis, Mo., Ruthie Harris of Memphis, Tenn.; brothers, Nathaniel Scaife of Lamar, Charles Scaife of Lakeview, Ark.; 15 grandchildren and 27 greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Frank Mills, Johnny Scaife, James Scaife, Arthur Scaife and Nadine Scaife.
