Ronald Wayne Shaw

Ronald Wayne "Ronnie" Shaw, 70, entered into Heaven on July 9, 2025, after a valiant battle with cancer. Ronnie was born on November 25, 1954 in Memphis, Tenn., and was a life long resident of Holly Springs. He was preceded in death by his mother, Violet Wayne Spicer; parents, John W. Shaw Sr. and Peggy Allison Shaw; brothers, John W. Shaw Jr., Mike Mattox and many loving aunts and uncles, specifically Jessie "Jett" Davis.

He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Brenda McAlexander Shaw; brother, Gregory Bain Shaw (Lisa) of Holly Springs; sister, Kimberly Shaw Hurdle (Mike) of Holly Springs; sister-in-law, Terri Shaw of Centerville Ohio; brother Tim Mattox; and sister, Penne Watney of Coldwater; nieces, Ashley Shaw of Eugene, Oregon, Kelsey Shaw Clayton (Davis) of Okolona and nephew, Jacob Wesley Shaw of Oxford.

Ronnie was retired from the United States Postal Service after 29 years and was a member of the Holly Springs/Byhalia Masonic Lodge #35. Ronnie attended Northwest Mississippi Community College where he received his degree in Mortuary Science. He served two years with the United States Army and was a former business owner of the Liquor Locker in Holly Springs. Ronnie took pride in giving back to his community and to those in need. He proudly served as "Santa Claus" for numerous children in the area for over 30 years with the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in Holly Springs. He was a long time member and loved being part of the Clydesdale Christmas Store which provided food and toys for area children. He organized many charitable events, benefits, poker runs and cook outs for friends and family in their time of need. He never met a stranger and was richly blessed with many friends. He was a jokester and loved a good prank when the opportunity arose. There are enough stories to write a book and some that we will leave untold but the laughter that ensues when reminiscing of his younger days is unending. He deeply loved and cherished time with his family particularly when he could organize the family reunions with all the cousins. His favorite past time included trail rides with friends on his trusty horse Chester and back in the day on his prized Harley Davidson. Ronnie was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord Jesus Christ. He touched many lives and will be missed by many.
