Hodges wins tie breaker in coin toss

Holly Springs experienced a seldom ever tie between candidates in Ward 1 June 10. Sandra Hodges (left), and Kylon Freeman wait the outcome as election commissioner Ruby Phillips- Wilkins flips a quarter. Hodges called tails as she was the first candidate on the ballot. And so it was. Looking on are city clerk Jerrica Jones, Freeman, and Deputy Royce Pegues. Seated from left to right are Sherise Sims, Hope Jones-Clark, and circuit clerk Monet Autry, who assisted with the event and completed the official election report on the overall June 3 election totals for each district.
