Holly Springs athletes place in top four
Several members of the Holly Springs boys and girls track and field teams earned top four finishes in the North State Championships and moved on to the State Meet.
North State was held Saturday, April 26, in Winona. The Hawks finished third overall, trailing first-place Yazoo County and second-place Alcorn Central. The Lady Hawks placed sixth overall.
Boys, North State
• 100-meter dash – first, Kentravian Kinkle, 10.75.
• 200-meter dash – first, Kentravian Kinkle, 21.56.
• 400-meter dash – first Kentravian Kinkle, 50.46.
• 4x400-meter relay – first, Jasiah Johnson, Christian Hicks, Kyson Isom, Joshua Harris, 3:36.00.
• 4x800-meter relay – second, Martavion Davis, Jasiah Johnson, Bruce Streeter, Jamal Moyo, 9:18.11.
• 300-meter hurdles – third, Christian Hicks, 44.61.
High jump – first, Jaylen Cassidy, 6-2; second, Christopher Hale, 5-10.
Girls, North State
• 100-meter dash – third, Jaliyah Martin, 13.06.
• 200-meter dash – first, Na’Kira Martin, 26.03; second, Jaliyah Martin, 27.13.
• 4x100-meter relay – fourth, Jaliyah Martin, Destiny Martin, Na’Kira Martin, Zianna Schlender, 53.45.
• 4x800-meter relay – third, Ariel Brunson, Monique Brown, Jaidan Hall, Asia Jackson, 12:47.64.
High jump – third, Kayla Phillips, 4-6.
