Smoke Signals and other news
This year is moving so quickly. Spring is here. We are playing baseball. Taxes are due. Kids are beginning to take those all-important state tests. Lawns need to be mowed. Gardens are being planted. Crops will be going in the fields, if not already planted.
I saw my first hummingbird at the feeder this week. It had been filled for several days and was probably sour, so I hope he and his friends return for the fresh supply I put in today. I do enjoy them.
I rarely partake in “fast food” but this week found if I was going to eat lunch that day, it would have to be fast food or nothing. I went to the drive through of a one-time favorite of my kids and grandkids. With the meal I ordered an unsweet tea. When I picked it up, I asked for a sweet and low. The very young lady looked completely stumped. She handed me a sweet and sour sauce. I said that wasn’t it and described what I was looking for. She looked around her station with a questioning look and came up with nothing. I assured her it was fine, and I would drink the tea as it was. I mean I know most people drink sweetened tea, but is that request that unusual?
I was able to get fairly close to the “new” stray cat outside this week. He or she is a beautiful cat. I was able to stand and talk to it without it running away. Guess that’s progress. It does appear at the food dish when no one is around.
I started exercise class this week. It is a gentle exercise class for those who need an easier course to restoring and maintaining better mobility and health. I was not able to complete all the exercises but that’s ok. I just kept moving when I could not complete what they were doing. My muscles were not happy with me that night, but the next day I could actually move a bit easier. I plan to go each week.
As Easter weekend arrives enjoy time with your loved ones and of course make sure the little ones have some great experiences that follow our family’s beliefs and traditions. Please remember the true meaning of Easter and celebrate in the way you choose.
