Curtis Jones

Curtis Jones, 88, of Byhalia, died March 17, 2025, at Great Oaks Rehab and Health Care Center in Byhalia. He is a member of Newell Chapel CME Church where he sang in the church mass choir and male chorus. He was a retired construction worker at Felex Moore Sr. Construction Co.

Services were held at 12 noon on March 21, at Newell Chapel CME Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Curtis Nelson officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Oleiva Ford Jones; daughters, Marilyn Jones-Taylor of Olive Branch, Annie Griffin of Frisco, Texas; son, Wayne Jones (Cynthia) of Memphis, Tenn.; sister, Maggie Edna Wells of Victoria; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Lee Ester Jones, Fred Jones, Emmitt Jones, Jethro Jones Jr., Robert Earl Jones, Lydia Taylor, Margaret Phillips and Pauline Bridgeforth.
