Spring definitely hit last week with folks traveling hither and yon to enjoy a week out of school. For some, it was leisure. For others, it was jam packed with game after game.
The Marshall Academy baseball team headed down to Biloxi. They played in the Battle on the Beach tournament. The boys came back with a 3-1 record for the week. It was a great tournament loaded with teams from all over the state. Way to go, boys.
Park City, Utah, was invaded with a large group of Greshams (Angie, Steven, Taylor, Palmer, Mindy and Steve), a smattering of Schnellers (Karen and Bill), a couple of Martins (Katie and Davis) and a Vanzant (Maddox). This bunch definitely went to not only have a fabulous time, but to ski some of the best slopes in the country. What a fun tradition they have begun, especially with the littles and the grands being able to watch their experiences.
Sunday afternoon, the bowling alley exploded with party goers who were there to celebrate the 4th birthday of Jack Wells. He was surrounded by some Patriots from the baseball team, as well as some Diamond Girls, his family and friends. Here’s to many more amazing birthdays, precious Jack.
There is nothing more fun than a last minute girl trip to the beach over spring break. Jennifer Burch and Amy Odom loaded up Laila Clifton, Kylee Cook, Addi Durham, Charlie Johnson, Macy Odom and Luci Tomlinson and headed south to Panama City Beach, Fla. The group enjoyed sand, sun and wonderful company.
Marshall Academy’s second, third and fourth grade classes learned all about the agriculture industry before spring break. The Mississippi State University Extension Service put on a FARMtastic Day. The students enjoyed learning about all the different farm animals, how to care for them, their roles on the farm and a variety of other things associated with farm life.
