One dies in house fire
A resident in the 2000 block of Moore Road lost her life in a house fire, according to Marshall County coroner James Richard Anderson.
The call was reported to 911 at about 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, he said.
He arrived at the location at 10:38 p.m. where he said the structure appeared to have been entirely involved.
The fire took the life of 85--year-old Pearlie Mae Taylor Moore, Anderson said. A son was transported to the hospital.
Anderson said the cause of the fire has not been established and awaits investigation by the state fire marshal and Marshall County fire investigator Royce Pegues.
On the scene to extinguish the fire were the Byhalia, Victoria, Barton and Red Banks fire departments, Anderson said.
