Maggie L. Porter Adams

Maggie L. Porter Adams, 98, of New Orleans, La., formerly of Holly Springs, died November 30, 2024, at her daughter's home in New Orleans. She was a member of Hamilton Chapel CME Church in Waterford, a member of Marshall County Retired Teachers' Association, and member of American Legion Women's Auxiliary. She was a retired teacher from the Marshall County School District.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on Dec. 13 from 2-6 p.m. and on Dec. 14 at Hamilton Chapel CME Church from 9-9:55 a.m. with services at 10 a.m. Rev. Robert Odum, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Cottrell Memorial Garden.

She leaves a daughter, Alfreda Adams Weber of New Orleans; sister, Josephine Boone of Holly Springs; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil "Bud" Adams; daughter, Norvel Adams Walker; siblings, Emmitt Porter, Howard Porter, Clyde Porter and Willie M.C. Porter.
