Byhalia approves natural gas contracts
The Board of Aldermen of the Town of Byhalia approved three natural gas contracts at the Oct. 15 meeting.
The contracts included Barrett District, 129 Commerce Parkway, Byhalia; Memphis Corner Blessing at 220 Mt. Carmel Road and H & M Development at 90 Wingo Road.
The board approved the updating of the Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Regulations. The contract with Bridge and Watson Inc. with the Town has lapsed.
Ordinances for food truck vendors, consent forms and indemnity agreements were some missing items in the ordinances.
The board approved the following:
• a pay request #7 for $11,894 for renovation on the Byhalia gymnasium.
• a pay request of $19,298 from Wagner General Contractors.
• a payment of $5,789 from Mills & Mills for construction.
• a ban of vehicles and trailers to park inside the Walking Track Park after the BBQ Cooking Contest in November.
• the minutes of the September 24, 2024 Planning Commission meeting.
• the Illuminate the Night Dec. 5 from 5:00 p.m. To 7:00 p.m. Downtown business owners would have to approve vendors.
• the Christmas Parade Dec. 14. Line up begins at 4:00 p.m. And parade begins 6:00 p.m. With a rain date of December 16.
• the sale of three surplus patrol cars through Gov.Deals.
• the replacement of the engine in a Dodge Durango.
• the schedule of the Nov. 5 meeting at Byhalia Police Department.
• the purchase of CAD program needed for storing submitted plans. Auto-cad’s maintenance fee must be paid, to keep it. Funds would come out of planning and development.
• the opening of a millage account for the Fire department millage.
• the opening of a sewer account at the bank.
The Byhalia Town Board meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesday each month at 5:30 p.m. And is open to the public.
