Joe Gene Dowdy

Joe Gene Dowdy, 66, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., formerly of Marshall County, died September 15, 2024, at Ascension St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro. He was a former member of Kimbrough Chapel MB Church and a taxi driver.
Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on Sept. 20 from 3-6 p.m. and at Kimbrough Chapel MB Church on Sept. 21 from 12-12:55 p.m. with services at 1 p.m. Rev. J.W. Smith Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He leaves his wife, Pattie Elaine Bailey Dowdy; daughters, Tania Jones of Spartanburg, SC, Joania Dowdy of Murfreesboro; three grandchildren and several sisters and brothers.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gussie Ambrose.
