MA falls short in defensive battle
The Patriots traveled to Senatobia, Friday night to take on the Magnolia Heights Chiefs. Coming off two shutout victories, the Patriots are playing some of their best football in a few seasons.
The Patriots looked to do the same Friday night, but the Chiefs offense would definitely be a tough task at hand. Though the Pats defense held the Chiefs to only 13 points, the Chiefs defense was better shutting out the Pats to win 13-0. Jase Akins recorded 17 tackles on Friday night. The Patriots defense, as a whole, forced three turnovers in the game.
Coach Ben Durham was pleased with his defense’s dominant performance but thinks his offense can be better.
“Our defense had another outstanding performance. On offense, we struggled to get anything going, and the rain did not help us,” he said.
Coach Durham says he can take from this game that his guys fought hard, and he’s very proud of the effort.
The Patriots are back home this Friday for Homecoming as they try to slow down the red-hot Kirk Academy Raiders.
