Letter to the Editor
I drove to Clarksdale, Miss., a couple of weeks ago to check on some business. I recently moved from there after dwelling there for 11 years. Somehow, I got confused in the turn I was taking and my left car tire landed in a conduit – that was metal, large and roughly bent. I could not smoothly back out. My car hesitated and I was stuck, tearing at whatever was under my car. My car resisted. I was stuck. I got out of the car to check out what was the resistance. Ragged metal water duct. I could not see me getting out of that! And it was a very hot day. In seconds, a white gentlemen sprang from his 4x4 truck and said, “I can help you.”
Then in another second two gentlemen in a truck – one black, one white – replied they could handle that. The three men worked together to pull me out in seconds. They did not know each other. The gentleman driving the 4x4 had a very long sturdy belt and one of the men tied the belt to the underside of the car and the other gentlemen reversed my car to level it.
As fast as they came, they were gone. They accepted no money offered, and told me that in doing so would be to cut off their blessings. They wished me blessings. The man in the 4x4 was on his way to his daughter’s baseball game. The two men driving together were getting off work. I was just standing there. In awe. It did not take them but five minutes or less time to assist me and make sure the car was driveable and I drove on.
It happened so fast. I did not get their names, nor phone numbers. They were angels intervening in my distress. This is my most recent account with angels. But they are ever present angels in this world we live in. They don’t want to be acknowledged. It is humbling to know there are those who care or those sent to assist.

P.S. My conscious would not allow me to rest until this was reported. Maybe it will kindle the hearts of those whom it touches.
