Lieutenant "Curly" Davis

Lieutenant "Curly" Davis, 69, of Byhalia, died July 15, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. He attended Street Hill and Union Valley Churches and was retired from Marianna Mercantile Glue Factory.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on July 20 at Union Valley MB Church. Rev. Leslie King Jr. officiated. Burial was in Street Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his sons, Anthony Banks of Byhalia, Dedrick Banks of Memphis; sisters, Helen Davis of Calumet City, Ill., Martinia Butler of Indianapolis, Ind.; brother, Leon Davis of Byhalia; and two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Amie Luise Davis; siblings, J.L. Rayford, Ozell Rayford, Burma Tuggles, Eurma Rayford, Adolphus Davis, Clarence Davis Jr., Robert Davis, Willie Hue Davis, and Gladysteen Harris.
