Betty Jean Turnage

Betty Jean Turnage, 88, of Holly Springs, died May 27, 2024, at her home. She was a member of Mt. Teamer CME Church and worked at Mulay Plastics.

Visitation will be held at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel on June 7 from 4-6 p.m. with services at 11 a.m. on June 8. Burial will be in Cottrell Memorial Garden.

She leaves her sons, Sylvester Turnage Jr. (Evelyn), Jeramiah Walton, both of Holly Springs; daughters, Bobbie Turnage, Doris Turnage, Dorothy Turnage, all of Holly Springs; brother, David Walton (Marie) of Chicago, Ill.; sisters, Marble McNeil, Mozella Walton, both of Holly Springs, Lillian Wagner of St. Louis, Mo.; 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester Turnage; sons, Lee Loyd Turnage, Clevester Turnage Sr.; daughters, Irene Walton, Bernita McKinney; brothers, Eugene Walton, Percy Walton, James E. Walton, Frank Walton, Luther Walton, Poger Walton; sisters, Lural Stinson, Opal Walton and Remela Walton.
