Five chosen NEMFCA North All-Star game

Five outstanding local football players were selected for the 12th annual Northeast Mississippi Football Coaches Association All-Star Game held on Wednesday, May 15, at Northeast Mississippi Community College’s Tiger Stadium in Booneville.

They are Holly Springs High School quarterback Deonte Jefferson; Byhalia High School’s Taylor Austin,

linebacker; Lance Williams, runningback; Potts Camp High School Kendric Isom, offensive lineman; H.W. Byers’ High School Mandarian Euell, wide receiver; and Anthony Manuel, manager.

NEMFCA serves 70 schools in 25 counties in Northeast Mississippi and is an excellent opportunity for players who haven’t received a scholarship to get one last look from college coaches.

NEMFCA board member Richard Russo said he had a player selected to play college football in the last 11 games.

“This game changes lives,” Russo said.

The South All-Stars team won 9-0.
