Gary Donovan Ambrose

Gary Donovan Ambrose, 56, of New Albany, formerly of Holly Springs, died October 2, 2023. He was a member of Faith Fellowship Church of God in Christ in Slayden and was employed for 25 years at Oil Dry.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on Oct. 7 at Faith Fellowship Church of God in Christ. Superintendent Christopher Griggs officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Serenity Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves a son, Gary D. Gatewood Jr. of New Albany; daughter, Alison Ambrose of Memphis, Tenn.; father, Lawrence Gatewood of Holly Springs; brothers, Lee Eddie Fitzpatrick of Holly Springs, Charles R. Fitzpatrick of Memphis, Elvis Gatewood (Jackie) of Holly Springs; sisters, Sandra Morrow (Doyle) of Oxford, Gayle Bush (Casey) of Holly Springs, Lekitha Brown (Howard) of Memphis; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Burnett Fitzpatrick and brother, Shun Gatewood.
