MA shuts out Indianola, 26-0

Marshall Academy’s Patriots celebrated their annual homecoming, welcoming Indianola Academy Friday night. From the kickoff to the game’s final second, the Patriots dominated on both sides of the ball, shutting out the Colonels by a final score of 26-0.

Offensive stats for the Pats are:

• Carson Orman, quarterback, 153 yards passing 13 carries (33 yards), two touchdowns rushing.

• Eli Gurley, running back, 18 carries, (99 yards), two touchdowns (88 yards receiving), 187 yards total.

Defensive stats are:

• Connor Todd, defensive back, eight tackles and one interception.

• Devin Snow, defensive back, four tackles

• Hunter Holdbrook, defensive lineman, four tackles.

“The boys played hard and executed the game plan,” said Marshall Academy’s head coach Ben Durham. “I’m proud of Wesley Harris and his defensive game plan. It is always nice to have a shutout for homecoming.”

The Pats will now prepare for their game against Lee Academy on Friday, Sept. 29. Marshall Academy and Lee Academy come into the game with a 3-3 record. The game begins at 7 p.m.
