May Francis “Mary” Scruggs

May Francis “Mary” Scruggs, 96, of Holly Springs, died August 19, 2023. She was a member of Chulahoma Baptist Church where she served on the mother board, and member of Eastern Star.

Services were held at 1 p.m. on August 26 at Chulahoma MB Church. Burial was in Mt. Gilead Church Cemetery. Rodgers Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves her daughters, Dorothy Cox of Holly Springs, Marie Scruggs of Olive Branch; sons, Charles King of St. Louis, Mo., Ike King of Byhalia, James Scruggs, Marcus Scruggs Jr., both of Holly Springs; sisters, Elaine Moore of Nashville, Tenn., Christine Allen, Ann Blair, both of Lansing, Mich., Lisa Jackson, Marjarie Brown, Marcella Stroud, Joyce Thomas, all of St. Louis, Lois Jean Curtis of Flint, Mich.; brothers, Lindell Moore, Robert Moore, both of St. Louis; 25 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcus “Bud” Scruggs.
