John Loyd Nelson, 86, of Byhalia, died August 13, 2023, at Memphis VA Hospital. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a truck driver.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on August 19 at Emory Methodist Church. Burial was in Emory Cemetery. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Joy Nelson; daughter, Kari Ferguson (Thomas); and a granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lynn Nelson, James Nelson; six sisters, Mary Lois Gurley, Thelma Childers, Hazel Ferrell, Juanita Naquin, Sue Butterworth Seitz and Laverne Provost.
