James Earl Hampton Sr.

James Earl Hampton Sr., 67, of Germantown, Maryland, formerly of Holly Springs, died July 19, 2023, at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Md. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and division chief at the U.S. Department of Labor.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on July 27 from 1-5:30 p.m. And on July 28 at New Dimension Salt and Light Ministries from 12-12:55 p.m. With services at 1 p.m. Bro. Jeffrey Bohanna will officiate. Burial will be in Cottrell Memorial Garden.

He leaves his wife, Mary Ann Hampton; sons, DeMarcus Jones of Holly Springs, James E. Hampton Jr., Andrew Hampton, both of Germantown; mother, Lucy Mae Ayers Hampton of Holly Springs; sisters, Martha Ann Hampton, Jessie Mae Hampton, Armintra Campbell, all of Holly Springs, Evon Mason of Memphis, Tenn.; brothers, Freddie Louis Hampton of Holly Springs, Larry Hampton of Memphis; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jessie T. “Jick” Hampton; siblings, Sarah Hampton, Jimmy Hampton, Chester Cole and Robert Lee Hampton.
