Jessie Mae Hampton
Jessie Mae Hampton, 82, of Michigan City, died June 12, 2023, at her home. She was a member of Sand Hill MB Church where she served on the mother board. She was a retired Outreach Worker for United Community Action.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on June 17 at Sand Hill MB Church. Rev. Darrell Mays officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves her daughters, Jessie Burnett Echols of Ripley, Margaret Tipler of Holly Springs, Vera Kelley of Clinton; sons, Tracy Hampton of Ashland, J.T. Hampton Jr. of Southaven, Charles T. Hampton of Memphis, Tenn.; sisters, Marsell Owens, Georgia Harris Cole, both of Ashland; brothers, Dwight Harris, George Harris, both of Ashland; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Hampton; daughter, Lue Ellen Webber; siblings, Classie Evans, Tommie Lue Nunnally, Annie Jean Mason, Mattie Tatum, Willie Louis Harris and Ted Louis Harris.
