Jones signs with Southern Miss

Miles Jones, a 6’2”, 190 pound senior at Byhalia High School and an outstanding wide receiver and outside linebacker, signed a National Letter of Intent. Due to inclement weather, Jones was scheduled to sign on National Signing Day, Wednesday, Feb. 1. He signed on Friday, Feb. 10, with Southern Miss Golden Eagles with coaches, family and teammates present.

Jones is a three-sport athlete in football, basketball and track. The Northeast Mississippi Football Coaches Association chose him for the 2023 North All-Star Football roster. Jones also was a recipient of the Byhalia Area Chamber Main Street Academic Scholarship Essay Contest.

According to MaxPreps, Jones has played 29 games; he has had 13 receiving touchdowns (REC), 190 total yards returned, 14.6 average number of yards per catch, 6.6 receiving yards per game, and 49 longest-recorded receptions. He tallied 32 tackles in his junior season.
