Amanda Anderson Scales

Amanda Anderson Scales, 78, of Holly Springs, died March 10, 2023, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. She was a member of Anderson Chapel CME Church where she served on the church Trustee Board. She was a seamstress.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on March 17 from 3-7:30 p.m. and on March 18 at Anderson Chapel CME Church from 12-12:55 p.m. with services at 1 p.m. Rev. Leon Moore, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Cottrell Memorial Garden.

She leaves her daughters, Tamara Scales Jackson of Holly Springs, Jocelyn Scales Raimey of Hattiesburg, Cara N. Scales of Holly Springs; son, Marc Anthony Scales of Holly Springs; brothers, James Henry Anderson of Evanston, Ill.; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Edward Scales Jr.; son, Larry Hamer; siblings, Clemmie McFadden, Emma Ruth Martin, Rosie Lee Edwards, Charlene Gulledge, Ola Anderson, Eugene Anderson and Albert Anderson.
