Brooksie Elmore Surratt

Brooksie Elmore Surratt, 80, of Marietta Ga., formerly of Ashland, died February 25, 2023, at Anderson Mill Health and Rehab in Austell, Ga. She was a member of Samuel Chapel MB Church and was a homemaker.

Services were held at Samuel Chapel MB Church on March 4 at 12 noon. Pastor Ricky Ball officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves her daughters, Carcel Surratt of Marietta, Lynda Baker of Broadview, Ill., Regina Searcy of Cedar Hill, Texas; sons, Freddie Epps of Southaven, Dwight Elmore of Chicago, Ill., Dwayne Epps of Waterloo, Iowa; sisters, Ruth Fortenberry of Michigan City, Josie Lloyd of Collierville, Tenn.; brother, Robert Elmore of Olive Branch; 20 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Morrise "Joey"; siblings, Freddie Elmore, Coylee Elmore, Frank Elmore, Ernest Elmore, Shirley Lockett, Pearlie Mae Gholson, Cleophsia Elmore, Thelma Brown and Saint Murray Elmore.
