Byhalia Soccer 3A District champs
Byhalia High School soccer team won the 3A district championship for the third year in a row under coaches Teri Reagh, Lorenzo Rogers and Hank Farish.
“We have been the undefeated district champions for the last three years,” said Coach Reagh. “They have only received two trophies though.”
The seniors on the Byhalia soccer team spoke about how they appreciate having the program and are glad to have played with a great team.
“I'm very grateful to share this special moment with the team,” Ricardo Sanchez said.
Coach Reaghsaid the team practiced hard and workedb hard as a team to have a successful season.
“We all shared the same goals and we know all our hard work has paid off,” said Marcus Neely.
The team has been playing together for the last five years said coach Reagh.
“I'm really grateful to be able to spend all these years with these guys. I'm happy to make an impact here in Byhalia,” Edwardo Vazquez said.
It was a great and exciting season for many of the team members.

“I thought it was really fun and I want to see the future teams surpass us and do better,” said Jose Maraz.
The parents were excited to see the team bring home the district championship trophy and are glad that the high school has the program.
“I think overall the program improves self-esteem, and is a good program for the school,” said Peggy Neely. “It (soccer) has brought them closer together more as a team and built good friendships.”
Brandon Arais said he was grateful that they could build the program from the ground up.
“I'm graduating nine seniors out,” said coach Teri.
The seniors team members are Carlos Vega, Brandon Arias, Marcus Neely, Jose Meraz, Juan Iniguez, Edwardo Vasquez, Ricardo Sanchez and Manuel Garcia.
