Mario DeWayne Shine, 43, of Ashland, died February 6, 2023, in Byhalia. He was a member of Greenwood MB Church and a U.S. Army Veteran. He was an assistant teacher at Ashland High School and a self-employed carpenter.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Feb. 12 at New Dimension Salt and Light Ministries. Rev. Dr. Patrick Washington officiated. Burial was in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Memphis, Tenn. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Veronica LaSha Shine of Byhalia; daughter, Aquira Shine of Ashland; son, Mario Shine Jr. of Ashland; mother, Jacqueline White Shine of Ashland; father, Roosevelt Shine of Somerville, Tenn.; and sister, Danielle Daniel of Memphis.
