Byers win 21 games straight
H.W. Byers Lions have won the last 21 games and continue to dominate the court, winning their games by a double-digit average.
The Lions defeated rivals Ashland Blue Devils 80-32 and the Potts Camp Cardinals 79- 15 with a combined score of 159-47.
Byers went 3-0 last week. The Lions defeated 3A Independence High School on the road Friday night.
In the first quarter, the Lions trailed behind the Wildcats. but the Lions led in the second quarter.
The Lions jumped out in front of the Wildcats and won with a final score of 75-54.
The Lions were scheduled to play Lake Cormorant Tuesday night. They will travel to Byhalia High School on Friday, Feb. 3. The game begins at 7:30 p.m.
Lady Lions lose to Independence Lady Wildcats, 55-32
H.W. Byers Lady Lions traveled to Independence High School Friday night. The Lady Wildcats took over the scoreboard with a win of 55- 32.
Lady Lions high scorer is Andrea Carter, with 18 points.
