Hawks defeat Indians 74-69
In one of the most anticipated games, it's always bad blood when Holly Springs Hawks and Byhalia Indians meet on the basketball court. The 50-year rivalry says a lot about having a sell-out crowd.
The first half was all Hawks dominating on the offensive end. The Hawks seemed to be running away with the game going into halftime with a score of 46-29. The second half was all Indians. After falling behind 30 points, the Indians sparked a comeback bid cutting the lead by five points.
Despite the late rally from Byhalia, the Hawks captured the win with a score of 74-69.
Jabez Jones finished with 26 points for the Hawks. JiMarrion Austin led the Indians with 24 points.
Lady Hawks win against Lady Indians 56-28
The Holly Springs Lady Hawks hosted the Byhalia Lady Indians Friday night.
The Lady Hawks took the lead in the first half with the score 15-8. The Lady Hawks continued their momentum and won the games 56-28.
The top scorer for the Lady Hawks was Aryuana Ingram with 15 points. For the Lady Indians, M. Echols scored 17 points.
