Hawks defeat Blue Devils
It’s no secret the Hawks find themselves in a rare slump season after competing for a state championship many times over the last two decades.
After starting the season 3- 10, a new phase of the season was underway, looking for some boost towards the postseason. The Hawks traveled to Ashland Friday, Jan. 6, to take on their rival, the Ashland High School Blue Devils.
The Blue Devils have had a season of up and downs, but a win over arch-rival Holly Springs would give the Blue Devils a much-needed boost toward the finish line.
The Hawks had a strong first quarter but only scored a total of four points in the second quarter. The Blue Devils led at halftime 22-17. A back-and-forth second half led to a Hawks 50-46 win.
Colain Brown led the Hawks with 15 points.
