John Edward Cathey

John Edward Cathey, 71, of Memphis, Tenn., died September 12, 2022, at Spring Gate Nursing Home. He was a mechanic and handyman.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. On Sept. 25 at Serenity-Autry Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Bowens Cemetery in Holly Springs.

He leaves four daughters, Bessie Anderson (Keith) of Holly Springs, Patricia Taylor (John), Teretha Hickerson (Roderick), Tamika Johnson (Shondale), all of Memphis; four sons, Robert Woods (Tomeka) of Byhalia, Cedric Cathey of memphis, Ronnie Lloyd (Lori) of Covington, Tenn., Mario Woods of Grand Rapids, Mich.; four sisters, Valerie Cathey, Jeannie Chapman, Linda Chapman, Janice Chapman, all of Memphis; eight brothers, Eddie Louis Cathey (Annette), Randy Eason (Lois), Stanley Eason, Carl Eason, Mickey Eason (Barbara), Ricky Eason, Ronald Chapman, Johnnie Chapman, all of Memphis; 35 grandchildren and 20 greatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Woods Cathey and son, Randy Woods.
