Walter James Guy

Walter James Guy, 65, of Olive Branch, formerly of Byhalia, died August 30, 2022, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. He was a member of Brown Baptist Church in Southaven where he served as a trustee, steward and was a choir member. He was retired from Quebecor Printing Co.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on September 9 from 3-6 p.m. and at Brown Baptist Church on September 10 from 9-9:55 a.m. with services at 10 a.m. Pastor Bartholomew Orr will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park South Woods in Memphis.

He leaves his wife, Linda Glover Guy; daughters, Stephanie Joi Guy of Dallas, Texas, Alexis Guy Jones of Olive Branch; sons, Eric Walls of Arlington, Tenn., Andre Guy of Southaven; sisters, Rosie Verner, Earlene Cooper, both of Olive Branch, Julia M. Walls of Memphis, Delorise Tunstall of Byhalia, Denise Norman of Memphis, Sheila Woods, Constance Cowan, both of Olive Branch; brothers, Joe W. Guy of Germantown, Tenn., Michael Guy of Byhalia, Alphonso Guy, Mark A. Guy, both of Olive Branch; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ashley Monique Guy; parents, Magnolia Brown Guy and William Henry Guy Jr.; siblings, Edward Lee Guy, Julius Guy, Robert Guy, Eloise Stephens and Dorothy Sims.
