Lawrence Wallace Dowsing Jr.

Lawrence Wallace Dowsing Jr., 65, of Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of Holly Springs, died April 29, 2022, at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville. He was a member of Anderson Chapel CME Church. He was a retired veteran of the US Marine Corp of 24 years where he served as a Marine Cargo Specialist-Civil Service.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on May 12 from 4-6 p.m., and at the Eddie L. Smith Multi-Purpose Building on May 13, from 10-10:55 a.m. with services at 11 a.m. Rev. William S. Banks will officiate.

He leaves wife, Etsuko Taita Dowsing; daughter, Malinda Richardson of Jacksonville, NC; sons, Edward Alexander Tillman of Valdosta, Ga., Demetrious Alexander Tillman of Woodbridge, Va., Lawrence Wallace Dowsing III of Raleigh, NC; sisters, Eileen Dowsing of Holly Springs, Dr. Cecilia DowsingAdams of Collierville, Tenn.; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence W. and Annie S. Walton Dowsing; and sister, Avis Yvonne Dowsing Lucas.
