Sara Abby Hall Gatewood

Sara Abby Hall Gatewood, 102, of Byhalia, died October 26, 2021, at her home in the Cayce community. She was a member of Newell Chapel CME Church in Victoria and a retired custodian at Collierville High School.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on Nov. 5 from 1-5:30 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 6 at Newell Chapel CME Church Cemetery. Rev. Columbus Bell will officiate.

She leaves a daughter, Eulia M. Jones of Byhalia; son, L.C. Gatewood of Byhalia; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Henry Gatewood; children, Charles Edward Gatewood, Van Gatewood; siblings, Lillian Bell, Eula Thompson, Anner Anthony, Emma Hall and Annie Hall Green.
