Alice Jean Wright Hughes

Alice Jean Wright Hughes, 72, of Holly Springs, died August 10, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Union County in New Albany. She was a member of Powell Chapel Church.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on Aug. 21 at Serenity-Autry Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Deldrick Lesure officiated. Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery.

She leaves two daughters, Lawanda Falkner, Theresa Hughes, both of Hickory Flat; one son, Taiwan Hughes of Hickory Flat; three brothers, Troy Lee Wright of Holly Springs, Jackie Paul Wright of Rochester, NY, William Wright Jr. of Holly Springs; one sister, Janie McNeil of Holly Springs; 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one godson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Hughes; four brothers, Fred Johnson, John Tucker, William O. Wright, Jerry Wright; and one sister, Patricia Wright.
