City Personals
Lisa and Greg Shaw, Kelsey and Davis Clayton, along with their children Graham and Stella, Julie Strickland and Anne Greer recently returned from a week long respite in Perdido Key, Florida. This was Stella’s first beach trip and naturally, Graham was bumming it on the beach with his Lele all week, as he is a pro at beach visits! Christy and Keith Owens and grands Lilli Cate and Camp, were also beach bound for the week! Cameron and Hank Owens and daughter, Cleo, as well as Bailey Poindexter and daughter, Ruth, were also on the trip. All of the littles enjoyed beach and ocean time playing with one another. They met up with Bridgett and Craig Dailey for a phenomenal meal at Papa Rocco’s for their Oyster Fest. Among them, they polished off close to 30 dozen oysters! The group was fortunate to have phenomenal weather, grand friendships and memories made! Charlie Douglas and daughter, Caroline Grace, of Flowood were weekend visitors of Leigh Douglas.
Greg and Boothe Gresham traveled to Tucson, Arizona, to watch the Ole Miss Rebels battle it out in the Super Regional baseball tournament. Arizona took the Rebels the first game Friday night. Saturday night, Ole Miss showed up and out behind pitcher Doug Nikhazy. They had big bats at every at bat. Defense proved to be in beast mode as well, stretching the game across a four hour time period. With Ole Miss coming out on top, it forced a third game Sunday evening. Needless to say, as good as the Rebels were Saturday night, Arizona flipped the switch and spot. They came out bats on fire. It seemed everything they hit found holes. It was a devastating loss for the Rebels who have worked all season long overcoming illness and injuries of players. In the end, Arizona proved to be a much bigger foe than imagined.
The Rebels ended their season Sunday night, but what a fine season they gave all of their fans.
Now for a well deserved break before they focus on next season!
